Barry Cassell‘s lifelong construction career includes tradesman experience as well as scheduling, estimating, and project management in the Pacific Northwest, Alaska, and Hawaii. Past consulting projects include work throughout the United States, Mexico & Australia, and more recently in Japan. Upcoming government contracts are scheduled in 2012 to provide estimating training for engineers at US Naval bases in Italy & Spain.

As president of Cassell Consulting Inc., Barry has worked with governmental agencies, engineering firms, general contractors, and specialty subcontractors. Configuring estimating and project management software and training staff personnel are among his specialties. Consulting services include expertise with Oracle-Primavera Project Manager (P6), US Cost Success Estimator, Sage-Timberline Estimating, Winest & Modelogix,  and On Screen Takeoff. Beck Technologies’ DProfiler and RocTek’s WinEx are recent additions to the company’s offerings. Current scheduling consulting  projects in Alaska include Norton Sound Regional  Hospital with DOWL-HKM, and the Barrow Hospital with Arctic Slope Regional Corp.

As Senior Scheduling Consultant with Oracle-Primavera Business Partner Stenstrom Group Inc., Barry has created and reviewed numerous US Army Corps of Engineers  and NAVFAC construction projects . Mr. Cassell designed and originated a new training class entitled “P6 for Government Contracts”,  and wrote the custom training manual. He has taught sessions in the Pacific Northwest and Hawaii numerous times over the past three years.

Direct industry experience encompasses all areas of construction including industrial, heavy & light commercial: bridge, pipeline, treatment plant, highway, dam, high-rise, medical, resort & telecommunications projects, as well as multi-family & single-family residential. As a Tradesman, Barry worked as a laborer on the Trans-Alaska Pipeline, carpenter on Green Lake Dam, leadman on Hilton Waikoloa Village, and foreman & superintendent on U. of Alaska Southeast Student Housing to name just a few.  In the office he has held positions as estimator and project manager. His own construction companies built projects in Alaska, Washington, and in Hawaii. He holds current General Contractor license in Hawaii.
